Twist Fibre Festival
Chez Mouliné, we spend our mid-summers preparing hand-dyed yarns to show at the Twist Festival in the rural Quebec village of Saint-André-Avellin, located some 90 minutes from Montréal North of Montebello on the scenic Ottawa River. Over 50 workshops are being taught Thursday Aug. 17th through Sunday, Aug. 20th. Dozens of exhibitors are present from 9-5pm on Sat. Aug. 19th and on Sun. Aug. 20th. Mouliné Yarns has a double booth at 114-115 Desjardins Hall where we will be featuring our latest innovative Valentina Colour Works collections. We are pleased to introduce our all-new Valentina Colour Works super-soft (with a tight twist) superwash Royal Merino yarns in DK and worsted weights, made from the world’s finest 17-micron New Zealand merino, processed in Italy and custom spun for Mouliné Yarns in Canada. Pictured here are some of the VCW Royal Merino colourways we will show for the first time this coming weekend at the Twist Festival. A day-pass costs $10; visitors can also enjoy textile demonstrations, a plethora of fun activities for kids, a food fair, mini-farm, a participatory yarn-bombing exhibit, a social media brunch, and vendors from all over the country and beyond. Organized bus trips and information about the events can be found via the festival website.
